Why a part costs what it does: landed cost, explained

The price of an imported board is not its invoice price. Freight, customs duty and VAT at import, the clearing agent's fee, local delivery and the exchange rate on the day all go into what it really cost us: its landed cost.

Why it matters to you

It is why prices can change between two orders of the same part, and why quotations for imported parts are valid for seven days rather than fifteen.
